அமெரிக்கத்தமிழ் தொழிலதிபர்கள் சங்க வடகிழக்குப் பிரிவின் துவக்க விழா செப்டம்பர் மாதம் 9 ஆம் தேதி எடிசன், நியூ ஜெர்செயில் உள்ள மிராஜ் பங்க்விட் ஹாலில் விமர்சையாக நடைபெற்றது. இவ்விழாவில் சுமார் இருநூறு தொழில் அதிபர்கள், தொழில் முனைவோர்கள் மற்றும் பிரபலங்கள் கலந்து கொண்டனர். ATEA வின் துணை நிர்வாகி மற்றும் வடகிழக்கு பிரிவின் தலைவரான திரு. ராம் நாகப்பன் மற்றும் நிர்வாகிகள் திரு வெங்கி சடகோபன், திரு. கிருஷ்ணா சாரி ஆகியோர் மிகச்சிறப்பான முறையில் இவ்விழாவை நிகழ்த்தினார். பிரபல நடிகர்,தயாரிப்பாளர் மற்றும் அகரம் கல்வி அறக்கட்டளையின் அறங்காவரலரான திரு. சூர்யா சிவகுமார் இம்மாபெரும் விழாவிற்குத் தலைமை தாங்கினார்.
திரு. ராம் நாகப்பன் ATEA நோக்கம், குறிக்கோள் மற்றும் முயற்சிகள் பற்றிச் சிறப்புரை ஆற்றினார். வணிக வளர்ச்சியை மையமாக கொண்டு உறுப்பினர்களால் இயங்கும் ஓர் இலாப நோக்கமற்ற அமைப்பு என்றும் அதன் ஒவ்வொரு செயல்பாடும் நம் சமுதாயம் பயன்பெறும் வண்ணமே அமைந்திருக்கும் என்றும் கூறினார். அந்த வகையில் தொழிலதிபராக வெற்றி பெற்று சமுதாய முன்னேற்றத்திலும் கவனம் செலுத்தும் திரு. சூர்யாவை முக்கிய விருந்தினராக அழைத்தது மிகப் பொருத்தம். தொழில் நுட்பத்தைப் பயன்படுத்தி ஒரு 'கிளிக்கெர்' (Clicker) ஐ அழுத்த திரையில் ATEA வை பற்றி விவரங்கள் காணொளியாக அளித்தது இன்னும் பொருத்தம்.

ATEA வின் எந்த ஒரு பணியும் சமூகத்திற்குக் கைம்மாறு செய்யும் வகையில், சமுதாய முன்னேற்றத்தை அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்டிருக்கும். நிறைவாக, திரு. ராம் நாகப்பன் தமிழ் அன்பர்கள் நிறுவனங்கள் தொடங்க, நடத்த, செழிக்கச்செய்ய Link (தொடர்பு), Learn (கற்க), Lead (வழிகாட்ட) என்ற ATEA தாரகை மந்திரத்தை பின்பற்றி வெற்றி பெற உறுதுணையாக இருக்கும் என்று கூறினார்.

The North East Chapter of the American Tamil Entrepreneurs Association (ATEA) was successfully launched as a grand event at the Mirage Banquet Hall, Edison, NJ on September 9 th in the presence of over two hundred eminent professionals and successful entrepreneurs. Mr. Ram Nagappan, Co-founder of ATEA (USA) and the chair for the North East Chapter along with ATEA’s key executives Venky Sadagopan and Krishna Chari hosted the event. Actor, Producer and Television host and the Founding president of “Agaram Foundation” Mr. Suriya was the chief guest for the event.
Mr. Ram Nagappan addressed the audience about the vision, mission and charter that constitute ATEA. He said "ATEA is a business focused, non-profit, non-political, membership based organization. And as an institution believing in giving back to the community it was only apt to invite a Philanthropist and Tamil Social Entrepreneur like Mr. Suriya to launch the chapter. The attendees enjoyed the fancy launch with a clicker while a motivating video played on the screen and presenting the mission of ATEA.
ATEA aims at creating a platform for exchanging business ideas, seeking mentorship, Investments, making connections and creating an atmosphere for entrepreneurial thinking among American of Tamil origin and NRIs. However, ATEA will not restrict its activities to serve the Tamil community but will expand to serve the Indian diaspora in the USA. ATEA’s mission is to educate emerging entrepreneurs through ATEA
networking, boot strapping and seed funding mentors, empower early stage entrepreneurs through ATEA product and funding strategy mentors, elaborate later stage startups through Business and Operations strategy mentors, expand company brand through ATEA and engage with the community dedicated to grown with purpose. ATEA is modeled specially to promote youth, encourage women and enabling first-time entrepreneurs and help them collaborate.
As an aspiring entrepreneur, one can expect ATEA to help them make the most informed decisions in their ventures, to ensure their business plans are compliant, efficient, and sustainable, to enable them to discover a new opportunity or a fresh strategy, and most importantly and, to prepare for the future by learning about issues and trends on the horizon. The established entrepreneurs and business owners can benefit from ATEA to seek resources for meaning mentorship and productive investment. Currently, the Silicon Valley Chapter is operating successfully, serving about 600 members. The North East chapter will further expand the spread and the opening of Mid- west chapter is already in progress. We would have Americans across the US have a convenient access to ATEA and its activities.
The synergy between ATEA and AGARAM Foundation comes from their genuine interest to help their community grow to their full potential. Following lunch, Mr. Surya spoke about AGARAM and how one could help sponsor the college education for deserving student. Each sponsorship cost’s about $7,100 and takes care of all educational, food and lodging expenses throughout the entire undergrad. ATEA and its generous members donated heartily to raise an unbelievable 50 such sponsorships right at the event!
