It seems Tamil is the only group that does not use a borrowed word to say language.
Mozhi-Language and More.. It seems we are the only group that does not use a borrowed word to say 'language.' The word "mozhi," which conveys language in Tamil, is also used to mean 'word'. Additionally, it is used as a verb in Mozhi (nthu) with its gender and tense: mozhinthaaL, mozhinthaan, mozhivaaL, mozhikinRaaL, etc. The term for reply is maRumozhi (மறுமொழி). We also use nilai_mozhi (antecedent word) and varu_mozhi (following word) when compounding words. Like all Dravidian languages, ours is agglutinative (ottu_mozhi).

மறுமொழி maRu_mozhi-reply.
mun_mozhivu (முன்மொழிவு) - proposal
தாய்மொழி (thaay_mozhi)—mother tongue
We can come across poets using "mozhinthu"—"utter, recite," for example. Arunagiri repents that he was indulgent and did not utter the name of Murugan (ARumugan)

Note: mozhinthilanE - the tone is very repentant when we sing.. mozhinthu mozhinthilanE

Brilliant. I always pose this question to others. Nice to see this in a map. So, only Kashmiri and Tamil stand to differ. I am sure some of the Tibeto-Burman, Austranesian and Austro-Asiatic languages will have their own.....

While I’ve not studied carefully, I think mozhi > moshi > boshi > bosha> basha. I have not used correct linquistic script symbols for ‘zh’ or ‘sh’ and for vowels. Both labial m > b and ‘zhi’ > ‘sh’ are possible. Alternatively l
PEsu can be the source. We have to examine the cognates of basha in other IE languages to ascertain the origin and native status of the word.
