பிரபல பாலிவுட் நடிகர் ஷாருக்கானுக்கு உலகின் பன்முகத்தன்மை வாய்ந்தவர் விருதை(Global Diversity Award) வழங்கி பிரிட்டன் அரசு கவுரவித்துள்ளது. லண்டனில் நடைபெற்ற விழாவில் அந்நாட்டு பாராளுமன்ற சபாநாயகர் ஜான் பெர்கோவ்(Rt Hon John Bercow ), எம்.பி., கீத் வேஸ்(Hon Keith Vaz) எம்.பி. ஆகியோர் ஷாருக்கானுக்கு இந்த விருதை வழங்கினர். சர்வதேச அளவில் முன்மாதிரியாக விளங்குபவர்கள் மற்றும் மதிக்கக்கூடியவர்களுக்கு இவ்விருது வழங்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது. ஏற்கனவே இந்த விருது, ஜாக்கிசான், அமிதாப்பச்சன், ஷேக் ஹசீனா, ஐஸ்வர்யா ராய், லிவிஸ் ஹமில்டன் மற்றும் ரேவ் ஜேஸ்சி ஜாக்சன் ஆகியோருக்கு இவ்விருது வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இவ்விருதை பெற்ற ஷாருக்கான் தனது டுவிட்டர் பக்கத்தில், பிரிட்டன் பாராளுமன்ற வளாகத்தில் இவ்விருதை பெறுவது எனக்கு பெருமையளிப்பதாகவும், மகிழ்ச்சிக்குரியதாகவும் உள்ளதாக கூறினார். அற்புதமான இந்த விழாவில் என்னை கவுரவித்ததற்கு மிக்க நன்றி என்று கூறியிருக்கிறார். ஷாருக்கான் ஏற்கனவே, பிரான்ஸ், மொராக்கோ நாட்டின் உயரிய விருதுகள் வாங்கி இருப்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. |

| SHAH RUKH KHAN RECEIVES GLOBAL DIVERSITY AWARD | |||||
Shah Rukh Khan has been presented with the Global Diversity Award at the State Room of Britain’s House of Commons in London on 4th October 2014. The Award was presented by the British Parliament by the 136th Leader of the office of Speaker Rt Hon John Bercow MP. Rt Hon Keith Vaz MP, Chair of the Home Affairs committee conducted the grand ceremony. Other members of the Parliament from both houses, Commons and Lords were also present on this occasion. SRK received the award for his work in cinema ahead of his Slam+ The Tour concert at The O2 Arena. Rainbow Foundation which co-ordinates with the Next Foundation each year, the award of the “Global Diversity Award” to an outstanding individual who has made a major contribution to Worldwide Diversity, is an international role model and icon. Previous recipients of the Award have included: Jackie Chan, the International film Star, Amitabh Bachchan, Sheikh Hassina, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh; Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Lewis Hamilton, the Formula 1 Racing World Champion and Rev Jesse Jackson, the former US Presidential Candidate to name a few. Shah Rukh twitted, “Now at the Houses of Parliament to receive the Global Diversity Award….humbled & grateful. Thank you. Tnx Mr Speaker Rt Hon John Bercow & my friend Mr Keith Vaz for a wonderful ceremony for the Global Diversity Award.” Over the years, Shah Rukh has been honoured with several international awards, including Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur (France's highest civilian award), Wissame Al Kafaa Al Fikria (Morocco’s highest honour), Malaysian title of 'Datuk' (akin to the British knighthood) and several others. He has also been entrusted with being the Brand Ambassador of INTERPOL's “Turn Back Crime” Campaign recently. He has done a lot of charity work. Director Farah Khan, actors Deepika Padukone, Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah will talk to media about their upcoming film Happy New Year on Sunday morning in London. Madhuri Dixit and Malaika Arora Khan will join them at Slam+ The Tour concert in the evening. |
