Thirukkural translation in Malayalam (மலையாளத்தில் திருக்குறள் மொழிபெயர்ப்பு)

With 27 translations, Malayalam has seen the greatest number of translations in any Indian language. People of Kerala have great regards for the Tamil language and hold Thiruvalluvar and his Thirukkural in high esteem. More and more translations continue to be produced, the most recent one being a translation by Cheramangalam Sivadas in 2023. Malayalam probably has the unique distinction of producing the first ever translation of the Thirukkural in any Indian lan- guage (an unpublished manuscript of a Malayalam translation done in 1595 A.D.). Notable among the various translations is Ramesan Nair’s translation (Trust Publications, Trivandrum) as it is in ancient Malayalam. The translator had to only replace or tweak a few words from the original verse to produce a translation.
