German (Deutsch) speakers are not confined to Germany but many other countries Austria, Switzerland, Belgium and even Italy. Besides being the official language in many of these countries including countries like Namibia, speakers of German language are also distributed through- out the European continent in fairly large numbers. The significance of the German language as far as the popularization of the Kural is concerned can be known from the number of translations that have appeared so far.
